Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Word Checker analyze?

The Word Checker scans your document for issues across 7 categories: Title & Terminology consistency, Chinese/English Punctuation errors, GUI Element references, Commands & Code inconsistencies, broken Cross-References, Grammar & Style problems (passive voice, long sentences), and Tools & Versions that may be outdated.

Is my document safe and private?

Absolutely. All document processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your DOCX file never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded to any server. You can safely check sensitive technical documents, internal reports, or confidential manuscripts without any privacy concerns.

What file formats are supported?

The tool currently supports .docx files (Office Open XML format used by Microsoft Word 2007 and later, Google Docs exports, and LibreOffice). Since DOCX is fundamentally a ZIP archive containing XML, our parser extracts the document.xml to retrieve clean text content for analysis.

Can I export the issues found?

Yes. Once the analysis is complete, you can export the full issue list as a JSON file (for integration with other tools) or as a CSV file (for opening in Excel or Google Sheets). Both exports include severity level, rule category, description, the original snippet, and suggestions for each issue.
